This portal was meant to show a heart, my heart, growing from young to mature. But the work had its own will, just as every work always has. I overheard someone say “working with the hands is thoughtful action”. That was years ago and the phrase has stuck with me like glue. The work has turnt out to be an homage to my young heart, to (lost) innocence (rather preserving it), a temple for blue-eyed souls. As I was putting together memories and symbols, stories of my family came entering my mind, storiesmy grandmother has told me, stories of my mother, of their childhood. There are colored candles for my mum knows why, and there are marbles for they were precious to my grandma and also to me.

For years, I thought I needed to let a part of me go, but instead I decided to build it a monument of papers and wire.
